Minister Batt O'Keeffe Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government approved a   New Fire Station for Drogheda on the 25th April 2006, he has granted approval to Drogheda Borough Council to accept a tender for the construction of a new fire station in Drogheda on the Rathmullen Road .
The Department will provide funding of up to €3.6 million. The station will comprise of 7 bays, workshop, gym and training tower. The building will be also 'green' with a wind turbine, solar panels and rain water harvesting for station sanitation and training. Work will be commencing immediately.
