Fireworks Safety

  • Store fireworks in a cool, dry place and dispose of fireworks properly.
  • Never use fireworks indoors; only use them outdoors under safe conditions and take into consideration wind conditions.
  • NEVER LET CHILDREN HANDLE, PLAY WITH, OR LIGHT ANY FIREWORKS. ONLY ADULTS SHOULD HANDLE AND LIGHT THE FIREWORKS.
  • Always keep the audience (particularly children) a safe distance away from the launch site. Always light your fireworks in a clear open area away from buildings & vehicles .
  • Have an accessible fire extinguisher, water supply, hose, or bucket of water, fire blanket and first aid kit nearby for emergencies. During any fireworks shoot, there should always be one individual assigned as the fireman, whose sole job is to be alert and at the ready with a water source.
  • Never attempt to retrieve or relight a firework that failed to launch, leave it to stand for at least 10 minutes and then it should be submerged in water.
  • And finally fireworks can be very upsetting for animals/pets, move the animals away from the launch site or keep them inside.
